Charles Adams (1952) is visiting professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore.
Until 2006 he was assistant director at the IMF’s Office for Asia and the Pacific in Tokyo. Immediately prior to joining the Office, he was on secondment to the Asian Development Bank in Manila where he served as senior economic advisor. At the IMF, he has served in a variety of senior positions in the Asian and Pacific Department, European Department, Policy Development and Review Department and Research Department, where he headed the International Capital Markets Group.
Prior to joining the IMF, he was an assistant professor of economics at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and a doctoral fellow at Yale University. He has published papers in a number of journals including the Journal of International Economics, and the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking.
